RBPD Participates in 'Active Shooter' Training
Officers from the Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach police departments participated in the training at Hermosa Valley School.

The Redondo Beach Police Department joined the Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach police departments at Hermosa Valley School in Hermosa Beach on Monday to participate in an "Active shooter" training exercise, according to a notice on the HBPD Facebook page.
The school is currently closed to students because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The training was scheduled to start at 6 a.m. and last through 6 p.m.
"Officers will be dressed in uniforms and will be utilizing simulated devices and blanks for ammunition," according to the HBPD Facebook post. "No 'live' ammunition will be used."
The training is designed to help local law enforcement be prepared for "potential risks associated with a school shooting or emergency," according to the HBPD.
