Small Business Spotlight: Flo Boutique

Flo Richardson of Flo Boutique answers five questions from Patch.

The hot pink building previously housing ReVamp underwent a transformation at the end of last year when it was painted gray and Flo Boutique opened. Owner Flo Richardson took the time to answer five questions from Patch.

Patch: How did Flo Boutique get started?
Flo Richardson: I opened Flo Boutique in January 2013 after my previous boutique, ReVamp, closed its doors due to my partners moving out of the South Bay. I made a snap decision to strike out on my own and have never looked back.

Patch: What's Flo Boutique known for?
Richardson: An affordable, chic boutique at the beach for women's clothing and accessories, with a few home furnishings mixed in.

Patch: What's unique about Flo Boutique?
Richardson: I have a baby grand piano in the boutique. I am lucky to have amazing talented musician friends play for special events I host each season, as well as occasionally play at our Friday Happy Hour from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. At times, I have the best live music in the Village right in the boutique!

Patch: What's the best part about being located in the South Bay?
Richardson: I love the small town feel of being in the Riviera Village—it's a wonderful community, and we take time to get to know each other. I'm so grateful for all of my customers who have also become my friends.

Patch: If you could give your customers one piece of advice, what would it be?
Richardson: Shop small, shop local! Supporting the independent business owner in the Riviera Village is vital in keeping the Village thriving and to maintain its unique charm.

Flo Boutique is located at 209 Avenue I in Redondo Beach. For more information, email flo-boutique@hotmail.com or visit facebook.com/FloBoutique
