Some Redondo Beach Residents Unhappy With Grocery Outlet Coming To Town

Those residents said the discount chain does not match the value of the neighborhood.

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- Some North Redondo Beach residents are upset that a discount grocery store chain is moving into the shuttered Haggen supermarket, the Daily Breeze reported.

Outgoing Mayor Steve Aspel announced at the recent State of City address that Grocery Outlet and CVS will move into the space that's been vacant for more than a year, according to the Daily Breeze.

Residents who were not happy with that announcement flooded the City Council meeting Tuesday with more than 500 signatures on a petition opposing the plan, the Daily Breeze reported.
