Victim's Advocacy Unit Needs Volunteers
The Redondo Beach Police Department's program provides support to domestic violence victims.

The Redondo Beach Domestic Violence Victim's Advocacy Program needs volunteers, according to a news release from the .
The unit, which is funded by the , provides assistance to domestic violence victims by educating people about the cycle of violence, connecting the victim to community resources and referring the batterer to anger-management programs, according to the program's website.
The program's volunteer advocacy team is on-call 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and can respond to secured domestic violence scenes. The police department provides in-house training, and the schedule is flexible.

Volunteers must...
- Have their own car and a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Be able to pass a background check.
- Work well as a part of a team.
- Have strong communication and active listening skills.
- Have the capacity to be on-call a minimum of four 12-hour shifts per month, including some evenings and weekends.
- Be able to climb up and down 20 or more stairs with no assistance.
- Live within 10 minutes of Redondo Beach.
- Participate in training sessions and community programs and activities.
