Perhaps unfortunately for locals who run surf camps off area beaches, suggestions for new permit policies for beach camps and surfing schools were for approval, despite the fact that the 20-member Los Angeles County Beach Commission could not vote on the proposal.

On the bright side, Redondo's beaches received , although most of the beaches were not sampled during rainy weather. (County health officials always advise beachgoers to stay out of the water for 72 hours after a rainstorm.)
