'What Makes us Different, makes Us Beautiful':Redondo Beach Hero

REDONDO BEACH, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Jacqueline Warstadt who nominated Lisa Ferrin of Redondo Beach. Warstadt is a childhood friend of Ferrin and admires her kindness and compassion for children.

She spends tireless hours, advocating, to teach the people of the world, to open their minds and their hearts, to learn about and share love, with children who have special needs. Her son has Down Syndrome, is non-verbal. Lisa has a gift of talking to other children, to show them, " What makes us different, makes us beautiful" Her quote :)
