Woman Killed In South Bay Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
The crash happened Sunday night along the 14800 block of Western Avenue, according to authorities.
GARDENA, CA — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash Sunday night in the South Bay that left a woman dead, according to police.
Details about how the crash happened are still unclear, but police say the woman was struck by the driver of a car around 10:23 p.m. along the 14800 block of Western Avenue in Gardena.
The woman died from her injuries at the scene, police said. She was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office as Compton resident Robin Butler, 42.

The person who is believed to have struck Butler drove away from the scene, police said. But they later surrendered to the custody of the Gardena Police Department. Police did not provide details on what the driver would be booked on.
