WOODSIDE, CA — Three Oakland women were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy in Woodside after deputies investigating vehicle break-ins responded to one in progress in the 3400 block of Sand Hill Road, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department reported.
During the incident called in at 2:23 p.m., deputies were in the area on Alpine Road near Piers Lane when a witness saw one of the suspects identified as Shikila Bell, 24, shattering a window and reaching into a parked car, according to the sheriff's report. Bell was then seen jumping into and driving away in a 2016 white Toyota Camry with two other suspects identified as Malaika Lazenby, 25, and Jovita Malone, 31.
The car was traveling eastbound on Sand Hill Road and continued southbound onto Interstate 280 until a ruptured tire stopped its progress. The three suspects abandoned the vehicle, and deputies caught up with the trio a short distance away, the sheriff's department added. They were booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the above listed charges.
