Blotter: Suspect Attempts Break-in With a Blow-Torch

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 26

2:40 a.m. - Disturbance/Public Drunkeness: Occured on Main Street. Drunken person screaming loudly. Arrest made.

7:16 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occured on El Camino Real. Owner left keys in ignition, now car is gone. Report taken.

9:03 a.m. - Residential Burglary: Occured on Clinton Street. Window pried open. No suspect info. Occured last night. Does not appear anything was stolen at this point. Report taken.

9:08 a.m. - Suspicious Person/Public Indecency: Occured on Stafford Street. Report of a black male and black female having sex in the laundry area in the back of the building. Gone upon officers' arrival.

10:50 a.m. - Dumping Complaint: Occured on Oak Knoll Drive. Resident came home to find couches, mattresses and other garbage piled out in front of residence. Says it is an ongoing problem.

1:24 p.m. - Missing Juvenile: Occured at Roy Cloud School. Report taken.

2:02 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Woman came home from the park with her granddaughter and called 9-1-1 to report that someone was inside her home rummaging through property. Point of entry - front door. Report taken.

4:07 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on El Camino Real. Report of an intoxicated white male in his 20s urinating on neighboring business.

4:16 p.m. - Battery: Occured on Veterans Boulevard. Occured on Saturday at a bar. Victim knows suspect. Had to get four stitches. Report taken.

4:49 p.m. - Accident/Minor Injury: Victim was hit by a car on southbound El Camino Real.

6:38 p.m. - Shoplift: Occured on Middlefield Road. Manager called police to report he has a subject in custody for shoplifting. Arrest made.

8:56 p.m. - Person Down: Occured on Clinton Street and Redwood Avenue. Male down, partly in street and partly on sidewalk. Report taken.

11:31 p.m. - Suspicious Person/Armed: Occured on El Camino Real. Report that someone had just seen a black male wearing a dark shirt and a beanie carrying a gun. Officers were unable to locate.

11:45 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Redwood Shores Parkway and Egret Lane. Four possibly drunk juveniles threw objects at person's car, posssibly rocks. No broken windows. Officers were unable to locate.

11:47 p.m. - Battery: Occured on El Camino Real. Woman called to report she had just been assaulted by a Hispanic male, on foot in the area. Described as wearing a black jacket, jeans and black shoes. Arrest made.

 

Saturday, Oct. 27

1:00 a.m. - Disturbance: Report of 10 males standing in the middle of the street being loud, possibly drunk and fighting. Reporting person said they were dressed "gang-like." Report taken.

1:03 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle/Recovered Vehicle: Vehicle stolen at 5th Avenue and Rolison Road, then recovered nearby immediately. Arrest made.

7:37 a.m. - Found Property: Occured on Woodside Road. Person reported finding a bag with credit cards and other items in it. Report taken.

8:35 a.m. - Vehicle Burglary: Occured on 17th Avenue. Two vehicles broken into. Doors of vehicles were pried open. Unknown if anything stolen yet. Report taken.

11:29 a.m. - Disorderly Conduct/Public Drunkeness: Occured on Commercial Way and Brewster Avenue in restaurant. Subject down on the ground, rolling around, drunk. Possible transient, described as an Asian male, 40s, wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and jeans.

12:42 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occured on Whipple Avenue. Resident believes home to the right of his/hers is growing marijuana in the backyard.

12:44 p.m. - Vandalism: Resident called to report a vandal or vandals had put water bottles full of urine in his/her front yard. Possible suspect info.

1:09 p.m. - Suspicious Person: Occured on Silver Hill Road. Resident reported an unknown male of unknown age wearing a black shirt has been standing at his front door for the past 10 minutes. Resident says he is not expecting any visitors and does not see a car associated with the person.

2:44 p.m. - Terrorist Threats: Resident on Maple Street reports receiving criminal/terrorist threats on her cell phone in multiple cities. Has possible suspect info.

10:04 p.m. - Suspicious Persons: Occured on northbound Spring Street near Elm Street. Reporting person some saw juveniles trying to rip the neighbor's lights out of her front lawn, and said they were carrying large sticks in their hands.

10:04 p.m. - Suspicious Person: Occured on Orchard Avenue. Resident reported an unknown male subject standing in front of his/her address for the past 10 minutes. Subject was wearing a plaid shirt.

 

Sunday, Oct. 28

12:40 a.m. - Disturbance/Theft: Occured on Flynn Avenue. Unwanted guests at resident's party left, taking several items with them such as iPads and iPhones. The four subjects were described as Pacific Islanders, one with a ponytail, all wearing baggy clothes. Report taken.

3:27 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured in a store on El Camino. A subject asked to leave was now lying down sleeping in the store. Now asleep in the wine area.

8:29 a.m. - Vandalism: Occured on Oak Avenue and Clinton Street. Report of a black male, about 6'2" wearing a black shirt and stonewashed jeans who had smashed the windows of sevreal vehicles and was screaming profanities. Report taken.

10:38 a.m. - Petty Theft: Occured on Standish Street. A GPS and unknown items from the glovebox were stolen out of a vehicle through the passenger window, left open. Report taken.

11:46 a.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occured on Summit Ridge. Report of a possible homemade bomb made from a water bottle. Referred to another agency.

12:23 p.m. - Battery: A woman was beaten by four suspects. Medics are en route. Arrest made.

12:59 p.m. - Vehicle Burglary: Occured on Standish Street. Door was pried open, unknown items taken. Report taken.

4:33 p.m. - Vehicle vs. Cyclist Accident w/ Injuries: Occured at Middlefield Road and 4th Avenue. Vehicle fled after hitting cyclist. The person who reported the accident is following the suspect's vehicle, currently driving near 5th Avenue and Hoover. Police assisted.

4:52 p.m. - Residential Burglary: Occured on Coleman Avenue. Male subject seen using a blow-torch on a gate latch. Referred to other agency.

7:38 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Resident saw two men entering the yard of his/her neighbor. Officers were unable to locate.

11:30 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occured on Dover Road. A white Yukon was in the driveway of the home next door, which is vacant and on the market. The owners reside in San Francisco.
