Husband Kills Wife, Shoots Himself But Survives In SMC: Police

Police said they found the couple in a car unconscious with gunshot wounds to their heads.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Officers found a married couple unconscious in a car Sunday in Redwood City and determined the husband had shot his wife in the head before attempting to kill himself, police said.

At around midnight on Sunday, a security guard called 911 to report a suspicious car parked on the 1300 block of Seaport Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man in the driver's seat and a woman in the passenger seat, both unconscious and both with apparent gunshot wounds to the head.

Police said they learned that they were a married couple and evidence at the scene suggested the husband shot and killed his wife before attempting to take his own life.

Officers said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical condition.
