Inmate Found Sneaking Cocaine Into SMC Jail: Police
Police said they found 86 grams of suspected cocaine on a man they were booking into the jail.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — After arresting a 36-year-old man with an outstanding warrant Monday in Millbrae, sheriff's deputies said they found 86 grams of suspected cocaine on him while booking him into jail.
At around 11 a.m. on Monday, San Mateo County sheriff's deputies said they located and arrested Jazz R. Svarda, 36, who had an outstanding warrant.
While booking him into the Maguire Correctional Facility, deputies and correctional officers said they found a large amount of suspected cocaine on Svarda.

"I’m incredibly proud of our deputies and correctional officers for the vigilance they demonstrated and their daily commitment to ensure the safety of our correctional facilities," said Sheriff Ken Binder. "The intake process is a critical step in ensuring the safety of everyone within the facilities, for both staff and those incarcerated."
Svarda was booked on the felony warrant, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of cocaine base for sale, possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility and false identification to a peace officer, police said.
