Teen Accused In Fatal Shooting Of 18-Year-Old In Redwood City
A 15-year-old was arrested Thursday as a suspect in the shooting death of an 18-year-old near a Whole Foods Market.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 18-year-old was shot and killed Thursday morning in Redwood City.
According to police, officers found a young man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen lying on Adams Street, near a Whole Foods Market, around 1:40 a.m. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after medics arrived at the scene.
Shortly after detectives identified a person of interest in the case, officials said dispatchers received a call about a family disturbance involving a 15-year-old who assaulted a relative. Police responded to the scene, arrested the teen on suspicion of assault, and determined he was the person of interest in the shooting.

Investigators said they established probable cause to book the teen into juvenile hall on suspicion of murder. Due to his age, police are not releasing the suspect's name.
