Woman Sexually Assaulted While Walking Home In Downtown Redwood City

The woman was walking home at the 2300 block of Bay Road around 2 a.m. on Sunday.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A woman was sexually assaulted and robbed while walking in downtown Redwood City early Sunday morning, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was walking home at the 2300 block of Bay Road around 2 a.m. when she was approached by the suspect, who exposed himself and tried to convince her to go home with him.

When she declined and tried to walk away while calling a friend, the suspect grabbed her and took her cell phone, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 20s around 5-foot-6, fled on foot. He was wearing a gray shirt with blue jeans.
