Film on Canada Health System in Oakland Thursday – Discussion Follows

A documentary featuring Canada's healthcare system as superior to America's – "The Healthcare Movie" narrated by Kiefer Sutherland – will be shown for free at the Oakland Public Library Thursday night. A discussion will follow.

A documentary film illustrating advantages of Canada's healthcare system over that of the United States will be screened at the Oakland Main Library, 124 - 14th St., Thursday night, Jan. 31.

The 65-minute film, The Healthcare Movie, is narrated by actor Kiefer Sutherland and produced by the Canadian/American couple Laurie Simons and Terry Sterrenberg.

The screening takes place at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a discussion. The event is being presented by Health Care for All of Contra Costa and the Physicians for a National Healthcare Program of California. Also sponsoring it are several additional organizations listed on the attached flyer.
