
The $8 million Oakland extracted from CalTrans in a settlement over the Caldecott Tunnel’s Fourth Bore won’t pay for as many projects in North Oakland, Rockridge and Temescal as officials had originally estimated. The price tags for projects aimed at easing the local consequences of shunting more traffic under the East Bay hills have increased with the rising cost of construction in an improved economy.
The Rockridge Community Planning Council is hosting a meeting on Oct. 17 to discuss the fate of unfinished projects and options for finding new sources of money.
