Oakland Assault Suspect At Large

Police said the incident was reported at 7:50 p.m. Friday at the MacArthur Station.

OAKLAND, CA -- BART police asked for the public's help Saturday in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an assault that took place board a Richmond-bound train. Police said the incident was reported at 7:50 p.m. Friday at the MacArthur Station.

Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Solomon Espinosa, who is believed to be a transient in the Oakland area.

The two male victims of the assault sustained non-life threatening injuries. One was treated for a cut to his arm, while the second victim sustained a facial laceration, police said.

Espinosa fled the scene following the altercation and is still at large, police said.

The incident was recorded by cameras. The circumstances that led up to the altercation remain under investigation.

MacArthur Station was closed for approximately one hour for the investigation.
