Revisiting the Proposed Home Depot of 5100 Broadway

As memory of the proposal fades, the lot remains empty.

Located on the corner of Broadway and Pleasant Valley Avenue is a barren lot. Spanning fifteen acres, it has remained empty for over five consecutive years. Earlier this year, in April, a proposal was filed to build a Home Depot store on the vacancy.

Complete with 429 parking stalls distributed among five different garage levels, the total building area would amount to 129,485 square feet. Attached to the Home Depot would be a "garden center" of 16,170 square feet, and the main building would stand at approximately 35 feet tall.

Lars Andersen & Associates Inc. filed the proposal, which has since fizzled out. There has yet to be another building proposal for the lot, which remains empty.
