9 Displaced In Rohnert Park House Fire
The blaze started in the garage which was converted into a bedroom, fire officials said.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — Nine people were displaced from a Rohnert Park home over the weekend when a fire broke out in the garage of the house, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.
The fire was reported at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Bernice Avenue. A 911 caller said the fire was in the garage, and when the first patrol unit arrived there was heavy smoke coming from the garage and flames coming out of the front door of the home.
The first arriving engine crew quickly extinguished the fire before it spread to the rest of the home, the Rohnert Park DPS said.

Engines and personnel from Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District and Sonoma County Fire District also helped douse the flames.
Fire personnel confirmed the blaze started in the garage which was converted into a bedroom.

Damage was estimated at $500,000.
"Unfortunately, due to the extensive damage, all nine residents living in the home were displaced," the Rohnert Park DPS said. "Thankfully there were no injuries. Fire investigators will be trying to determine the exact cause of the fire in the coming days."
