It's Bruce Stallings, who is in his first year at the school teaching geometry and Algebra I.
"The thing I enjoy most about teaching is what I call 'the light bulb effect,'" Stallings said. "I like to work one-on-one with students and enjoy seeing when the understand the lesson."

Stallings is also an assistant coach on the Wolverines' varsity girls softball team.
"It took (athletic director and softball head coach) Bill Kapp two days to recruit me," he said.

As for the Rosemont High community, Stallings said he feels welcome.
"It seems to be a caring and tight-knit community all in one," he said.
Stallings lives in Placerville but spends weekends in Redding where his fiance Saedra is a state employee.
He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a teaching credential from California State University, Sacramento.
Stallings said he does his best to reach students in these days of iPhones and Facebook.
"I give students a sense of who I am," he said. "I share my sense of humor with them."
"If I can make math fun and have them enjoy it while learning, than that is the goal for me."
