Fire Breaks Out at Vince's Motel on Folsom Boulevard

The fire started in the kitchen of a downstairs unit, local media reported.

Firefighters in the Rosemont area had a busy morning Friday, battling a fire at a Folsom Boulevard motel around 4 a.m.

The fire, which CBS13 and News10 reported as being at Vince's Motel, was extinguished without any injuries.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the blaze started in a downstairs unit, and noted 31 firefighters worked to extinguish it.

CBS13 reported a woman was cooking eggs, left to go to the bathroom, and then heard her dog barking. She returned and saw the kitchen engulfed in flames.

Another tenant helped fight the blaze until firefighters arrived, the TV stations reported.

Sacramento, CA – Quick, Coordinate Fire Attack on Commercial Structure Saves Motel Units

Around 4 a.m., Metro units were dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire in the 9500 block of Folsom blvd. Metro fire Crews quickly arrived on scene to find visible smoke and flames showing from a downstairs unit. Immediately upon arrival, Crews initiated an aggressive, coordinated fire attack, search and eventually salvage and overhaul operations to effectively save the six adjacent motel units.

Thirty-one Metro firefighters were involved in effectively stopping the lateral and vertical spread of this fire and ensuring no victims were trapped or lost in building. The quick response and coordinated efforts of the thirty-one Metro firefighters resulted in approximately $350,000 of property damage that was averted due to the coordinated efforts of Metro Fire.

No firefighters or civilians were injured and at the time of this release, the fire is listed as still under investigation with the cause being unknown.
