Oct. 16-22: Domestic Unrest, Minor Thieves, Meth Bust
A domestic verbal dispute turns violent.

An institute you can't disparage
A married couple's verbal argument just east of Rosemont turned physical when on Oct. 15, Pablo Diaz, 27, and his wife were arguing over unspecified details, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department report. Diaz allegedly took the argument to the next level at the couple's Seal Court home, pushing his wife into a sliding closet door, knocking it off its track. Diaz then took their two children and fled to an unknown location, the report states.
"This is not a kidnapping, because the suspect is the biological father of both kids, and has equal rights of custody that the victim has, barring any court orders that say otherwise," Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said in an e-mail.
Ramos explained a missing persons report has not been filed because the circumstances don’t warrant it.

"If the suspect stays away for an extended period of time, then there may be a possible case for child stealing, if he does not bring them back," Ramos said.
A parent does not have the right to keep another parent from knowing the whereabouts of the children for extended periods of time, explained Ramos.

The suspect in this case faces domestic violence charges, if, in fact, a warrant is issued.
"That is the report that was taken though – domestic violence / felony spousal abuse," Ramos said. Â

Oh, to be young.
Wednesday, Oct. 19, two under-age suspects entered the home of one La Riviera-area local, stealing his wallet, credit cards, ID and a cell phone, according to a sheriff's department report.
While on scene at his Lanier Way home, the victim indicated to deputies that his bank records and one of his credit cards had already been used at a McDonald's at Folsom Boulevard and Manlove Road. Officers arrived at the location and observed two male juveniles walking in the area. Officers then proceeded to speak with the juveniles.
A probation search of the first suspect, 16, allegedly produced a cell phone and gift card which were later confirmed as belonging to the victim. The second suspect, 17, was found to be providing false information, stating he was not on probation, the report stated. Upon further investigation, deputies found the minor did in fact have a prior arrest history. The second suspect was also allegedly found to be in possession of a stocking cap, face mask and gloves.
Both were arrested.
"The victim didn’t need to press charges – there was sufficient probable cause for deputies to make arrests based on the property that they had belonging to the victim," Ramos expalined.

On Wednesday Oct. 19, Reginald Shanks, 36, was contacted on Norcade Circle by Sacramento County Sheriff's Department deputies during service of a warrant, according to a report.
Shanks was found with a woman when deputies issued him the warrant. Deputies approached Shanks and proceeded with a routine search.
The report indicates that during the search, Shanks was found to be in possession of a used glass narcotic smoking pipe and methamphetamine. He was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
The female was not arrested.
