Rancho Cordova Bank Robber Sentenced to Life in Prison

A 62-year-old manΒ will serve life in prison after being convicted of three bank robberies, including at least one inΒ Rancho Cordova.Β
Ralph Steward was sentenced to 30 years plus 75 years to life in prison for three U.S. Bank robberies in 2011, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney's office.Β
Last month, he was convicted of three bank robberies in Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova during June and July 2011.Β
"The jury also found true thatΒ Stewart had a previous robbery conviction and four previous bank robbery convictions, allΒ occurring in the Bay Area between 1993 and 2003," according to the press release.Β
"In each instance, Stewart entered the bank, waited in line, demanded money from the tellers,Β and fled on foot. He was ultimately recognized and apprehended by law enforcement duringΒ an unrelated contact weeks later," according to the release.Β
