Merryhill School Students in Roseville Place Second in Local Math Competition

On Oct. 15, in Roseville placed second overall at a local math contest held at Winston Churchill Middle School in Carmichael. Approximately 80 students in grades three, four and five competed in a variety of math tests, including solving word problems, demonstrating their mental math skills and applying their knowledge of maps, graphs and charts.

Merryhill’s team, the Dominating Denominators, consisted of eight students: Brandon Cheng, Edi Crnogorcevic, Noah Goins, Anthony Kinz, George Liu, Dominik Morris, Tyrel Robert, and Brandon Wei. Many of these students received individual awards for placing in the top ten.

Their scores overall earned Merryhill the second place trophy.  The team plans on participating in the next local math contest this spring and hopes to encourage their fellow students to join.
