Nonprofit Grant Applications Due Feb. 7

Non-profit organizations serving Roseville and South Placer County residents are encouraged to apply for grant funding from three different grant programs offered through the City of Roseville.  For the 2012-13 funding cycle, up to $495,000 will be available through a competitive grant process, including $457,500 through the Citizens' Benefit Fund, $25,000 from the Roseville Automall Community Fund and $12,500 through the Roseville Employees Annual Charitable Hearts Fund (REACH) Fund.

An application form and grant guidelines for the City’s three grant programs are available online at the City’s website, www.roseville.ca.us/grants.  The guidelines include eligibility criteria, dates and deadlines and other information regarding grants from the Citizens’ Benefit Fund, the Roseville Automall Community Fund and REACH.   Agencies can submit one application to apply for grants from the three funding sources for which they qualify.  The Roseville Grants Advisory Commission reviews applications for all three funds and recommends awards to the Roseville City Council for final approval.

Applicants must submit one original application plus an electronic copy.  Postmarks are not acceptable as a substitute for delivery by the deadline and no faxes or e-mails will be accepted.   Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the City Manager’s Office, Civic Center, 311 Vernon St., Roseville, CA, 95678.

The Citizens’ Benefit Fund was created in 1993 with proceeds from the sale of the Roseville Community Hospital.  The funds were deposited in an interest-bearing account and up to 90 percent of the interest earned is available each year to non-profit organizations to "improve the quality of life for the citizens of the City of Roseville."  Since 1994, $13 million has been awarded to agencies that provide a variety of health and social services, cultural and educational programs serving Roseville citizens.

The Roseville Automall Community Fund was created in September, 2005 when the City Council accepted the first annual donation from the Roseville Automall Association to benefit community agencies serving youth, families and seniors in Placer County.

The REACH Fund was created in 2003 to receive donations from City employees as part of the City’s annual giving campaign.  Roseville employees, retirees and local businesses can contribute to the REACH Fund which provides grants to non-profit agencies serving youth, families and seniors in Placer County.  Businesses interested in donating to the REACH Fund can contact the City Manager’s Office at 916-774-5362.
