Baby Left in Park Was Girl, Cause of Death and Identity Unknown
Placer County officials performed an autopsy on the child Tuesday.

The lifeless baby found Monday morning abandoned in a Roseville park was a girl born full-term or nearly full-term, a Placer County autopsy has shown.
Roseville Police Department spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said the autopsy didn't reveal much other information.
"We still don't know who she is and her cause of death is under investigation," Gunther said.
Police are still asking residents who may know something about the incident or who know a woman who was pregnant but is no longer pregnant and doesn't have a new child to call 916-774-5070.
The baby was found by a Roseville city parks crew at 7:50 a.m. Monday in Saugstad Park, near Royer Park. Officials say the child's body had been there, wrapped in plastic bags and shoved in a diaper box hidden in bushes near a trail, at least a day.
California's 2001 Safe Surrender Baby Law allows any parent or legal guardian to confidentially surrender a 3-day-old or younger infant to any designated Safe Surrender facility–including any Roseville Fire station.
