CA Coyote Rescued After Head Gets Stuck In Skunk-Smelling Jar

The coyote reportedly walked around for days with her head stuck in the jar before rescuers were able to help her.

AUBURN, CA -- A female coyote was rescued Monday in Auburn after spending days with her head stuck in a jar. Gold Country Wildlife Rescue workers said they received calls about the young coyote for days before they were able to find and help her.

Workers said they were able to capture the coyote late Monday morning in Auburn Lake Trails.

The coyote underwent treatment for dehydration and starvation, and weighed just over 15 pounds when she was rescued, they said.

"She is very weak but showing small signs of improvement and we are hopeful," the group wrote on Facebook.

Workers added the jar may have been sprayed by a skunk as it smelled. They said they plan to release the coyote to the wild when she is healthy again.
