Crime Watch: Residential, Commercial, Vehicle Burglaries
A roundup of crime from the Roseville Police Department. Reported March 29 through April 8.

Overnight March 31/April 1, someone siphoned gas from several trucks in the 100 block of Wills Road.
At 4:30 p.m. April 2, officers responded to a report of a male subject using a mirror to look up women's skirts in a store in the 10000 block of Fairway Drive. Officers arrested a 44-year-old male from Plumas Lake on suspicion of lewd behavior.
At about 1:30 a.m. April 5, an officer stopped a car for a traffic violation on Industrial Avenue near Galilee Road. The driver had a felony Placer County warrant related to stolen property, and one of the passengers was on post-release community supervision (AB109 parole). A search of the vehicle produced items recently taken in a residential burglary in Wheatland, gas siphoning tools and shaved vehicle keys (commonly used to steal or break into locked vehicles), and methamphetamine. A 34-year-old woman from Lincoln and a 30-year-old man from Auburn were arrested for various charges.

At about 3:30 a.m. April 6, officers stopped a rental truck on Lead Hill Blvd. and N. Sunrise Ave., and found that it had been fraudulently rented, and was overdue for return. The officers' investigation led them to a hotel room on Harding Boulevard, where they found a computer, printer, check-making software, counterfeit checks, stolen ID cards, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Four people from Granite Bay, Roseville, Fair Oaks and Citrus Heights were arrested for forgery, fraud, drug possession and other related charges.
At 10:40 p.m. April 7, an officer checked on a parked car with two people inside on Sheffield Way at Sheridan Drive. Officers conducted a probation search on the vehicle, and arrested the driver, a 26-year-old man from Carmichael, on suspicion of possessing narcotics, paraphernalia and burglar's tools.

Residential Burglaries:
April 3:
Overnight April 3/4, someone went into an open garage at 701 Gibson Drive, and stole a Garmin GPS unit, suitcases with clothing and ID from an unlocked car.
April 6:
Between 4:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. April 6, someone forced open the rear door of a house in the 1300 block of Coloma Way, and stole jewelry.
April 7:
Between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. April 7, someone stole horse equipment--head and fly stalls, blankets and halters--from a side yard in the 600 block of Vine Avenue.
Commercial Burglaries, Vandalism:
Between March 29 and April 1, someone stole an air-conditioning unit from a commercial complex in the 7400 block of Foothills Blvd.
Overnight April 3/4, someone broke the glass of a front window of a heating and air business in the 1700 block of Vernon Street, and stole desktop computers, a safe, refrigerant tanks and related equipment, copper coils and other items.
At about 4 a.m. April 4, someone broke a hole in the glass door of a property management business in the 1200 block of Melody Lane, reached in and stole checks from an after-hours mail drop.
Overnight April 4/5, someone took apart a commercial air conditioner in the 7500 block of Galilee Drive, stealing the copper components and destroying the unit. Replacement cost is estimated at $10,000.
At about 2 a.m. April 6, someone broke the front window of a store in the 300 block of Lincoln Street.
At about 6:15 a.m. April 6, a restaurant in the 1500 block of Eureka Road was burglarized. The unknown burglars entered by prying open a side door, and tried unsuccessfully to open a safe.
Car Break-Ins:
March 31:
Between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. March 31, someone stole the rear bumper, tailgate, running boards and cab guard from a Ford F250 pickup in the 100 block of Atkinson Street.
Between noon March 31 and 3 p.m. April 1, someone smashed the window of a pickup parked in the 1400 block of Elm Street, and took a laser transit tool. Between 7 p.m. March 31 and 6:15 a.m. April 1, someone smashed the window of another pickup parked in the 1400 block of Elm Street, and took a portable radio.
April 1:
Overnight April 1/2, someone stole a Tom-Tom GPS navigation device from an unlocked car in the 2100 block of Knapton Way.
April 2:
Between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. April 2, someone smashed the window of a pickup parked in a movie theater parking lot in the 500 block of North Sunrise Avenue, and took a purse, wallet, checkbook and ID. During the same period of time someone went into an unlocked car at John Pike Park on Stone Point Drive, and took a purse that had been placed on the floorboard and hidden under a floor mat. The purse contained ID, cash and bank cards.
Between 5:30 p.m. April 2 and 7:20 p.m. April 3, someone stole a leaf blower from the back of a pickup truck in the 300 block of Atkinson Street. A white Ford F-150 pickup with oversize tires and rims was seen cruising in the area, with the driver looking into trucks.
Overnight April 2/3, someone stole a wallet with ID and bank cards, and vehicle registration paperwork from an unlocked car in the 1100 block of Cottonwood Drive.
Overnight April 2/3, someone stole the catalytic converter(s) from a Toyota Tundra pickup parked at a hotel in the 10000 block of Fairway Drive.
April 3:
Overnight April 3/4, someone went into an unlocked car in the 600 block of Oakborough Avenue, and stole a garage door opener and the stereo face plate.
Between April 3 and 5, someone stole the catalytic converter(s) from a Dodge Ram 3500 pickup on Loon Lake Court. The repair cost will be $4,000.
April 4:
Between 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. April 4, someone went into an unlocked car in the 1300 block of Ridgerun Drive, and stole loose change from the center console and a disabled parking placard.
Between 7 and 7:15 p.m. April 4, someone stole a purse containing cash and ID from an unlocked car in an alley behind the 100 block of B Street.
April 5:
Between 1 and 6 a.m. April 5, someone got into a locked pickup on Francisco Court by unknown means, and stole a backpack containing a laptop computer, binoculars, a camera and other items from the backseat.
Between 1 and 6 a.m. April 5, someone tampered with the ignition switch of an unlocked car in the 1600 block of Chilton Way, and went into another unlocked vehicle in the same block, stealing a tote containing a large collection of late 70s/mid 80s baseball cards.
April 6:
Between 6 and 7 p.m. April 6, someone went into a possibly unlocked car parked on the southwest side of the mall, and stole a purse containing cash, a cell phone, credit cards and ID. The victim had concealed her purse between the driver's seat and the center console.
Between noon April 6 and 9:30 a.m. April 7, someone stole a laptop computer, financial documents, cash and a model train engine from two cars in the 300 block of Lomitas Avenue. There was no sign of forced entry into either vehicle.
April 7:
8 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 7, four cars parked on Orvietto Drive near the Miner's Ravine bike trail entrance were burglarized.
At about 8:30 a.m. April 7, a woman parked her car near the Miner's Ravine trailhead in the 500 block of North Sunrise Avenue. After she parked, she put two purses in the trunk of her car, and locked the car. When she returned to her car 20 minutes later, someone had broken her window, stolen a case of music CDs from the passenger compartment, and popped open the trunk, taking both purses. The purses contained cash, jewelry, credit cards and ID.
