- Two drivers were taken to the hospital after a tree fell across Folsom-Auburn Road near Douglas Boulevard in Granite Bay. The incident happened just before 3:30 pm Sunday afternoon. Authorities believe the ground was saturated from all of the rain and that caused the tree to break loose and fall across the road. One driver was trapped in his vehicle until first responders were able to extricate him. Both drivers sustained moderate injuries. (KCRA Sacramento)
- Two men were convicted in a "revenge" killing of a Rocklin father. In a DUI incident, Raymond Wright caused injury to Robert Manor and his wife. Wright was convicted and served his time, but after his release, Manor wanted revenge. He hired Victor Merle Gray to kidnap Wright, according to prosecutors. Evidence showed Gray kidnapped and killed Wright, though a body has never been found. Sentencing for Manor and Gray is scheduled for April 28. (KCRA Sacramento)
- The Fire Station 3 Open House was canceled due to weather conditions, and will now take place on April 1. "Families are invited to come and tour the fire station, ask the firefighters questions, and see firefighting equipment. This is a fun and free family friendly event." (Press Release Desk)
- Jersey Mike's in Roseville and the surrounding areas is opening its pocketbooks in a big way. On March 29 local outlets of the sandwich chain will give 100% of sales (not just profits) to UC Davis Children’s Hospital. For a list of participating locations see this article in Roseville Today.
