- If you enjoy Filipino fare, you're in luck! A new Filipino restaurant is set to open in Roseville after the owner's catering business took off. The restaurant will be called Adoboink Filipino Food and will open at the beginning of April. (ABC10.com KXTV)
- Deputies in Yuba County encountered a man sleeping in a stolen vehicle. They attempted to awaken him, and when he woke up, he took off in the vehicle. The following day, Lincoln authorities found the vehicle in a parking lot near Lincoln Boulevard, withhe suspect and his girlfriend asleep in the backseat. When he attempted to take off again, his vehicle was disabled by police and he was taken into custody. (CBS Sacramento via MSN)
- During the Loomis Town Council meeting on March 14, resident Deborah Grinder brought the issue of toxic freight potentially being shipped via railroad through the Town of Loomis to the council's attention. Grinder said she was concerned about safety, given the incident in Ohio. Loomis Town Manager Sean Rabe said town is not made aware what is in trains that travel through Loomis. He said it's an issue for Homeland Security. Apparently, the town can't do much about freight shipped on the rails through town. Loomis town attorney Jeff Mitchell said “Federal law preempts local and state regulation almost exclusively in regards to shipping and use of the rail line." (Gold Country Media)
- The Hacienda Del Rio in Folsom has a new name and is under new ownership. After a temporary closing, the restaurant reopened Tuesday under the name Hacienda Real. “There will be a new menu with a combination of traditional favorites and fresh mex options,” new owner Michael Sanson said. You can see the new menu on the restaurant's Facebook page. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
