Police Arrest Couple Suspected of Stealing From Coin Machines

The pair is linked to multiple coin-machine thefts in Roseville and five counties.

Roseville Police arrested a couple suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of coins from coin machines at regional businesses.

Detectives believe Cynthia J. Patrias and Robert J. Miller, both 49 of Turlock, allegedly went into businesses in the early hours, drilled the locks to the coin boxes and stole the coins, according to Roseville Police.

Between June 14-21, Roseville Police responded to four thefts from coin-operated machines in Roseville — one at a laundromat on Folsom Road and three at coin-operated car washes, at Eureka Road, Taylor Road and Pleasant Grove Boulevard.

Through witness interviews, video surveillance and information from area law enforcement, Roseville Police linked the couple and other suspects to the thefts in Roseville, in addition to 14 other similar thefts that occurred between February and June in Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado, Yuba and San Joaquin counties.

Roseville Police estimate the total loss to the victims, including repair costs, is in excess of $21,000.

Patrias and Miller were arrested on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy and other related charges.  Charges are pending against two other suspects.
