Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. West Roseville residents continue to be concerned about the proposed business park that will back up to Winding Creek. The project is in the early stages and gathering input, but neighbors aren't happy about the prospect of an industrial park. “For me, I would love to see something that's very recreational for me, with our family. We'd love to have something that would have like a splash pad or like a big park or things like that,” said resident Nichole Mace. "The city of Roseville says the proposed project is 'in the very early stages of the public process, which is why residents are learning about it.' They added that no business uses or project details have been decided at this time." (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. Blue Öyster Cult is coming to The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino on April 1! This is a rare appearance by the legendary rock band. With classic hits like "Burnin' For You" and "Don't Fear the Reaper," rock fans will be coming from miles around for this one. Tickets start at $49.95. (Sacramento News & Review)
  3. The final environmental impact report on the Project 8 Winery in Penryn is now available. You can review it here. The public will have several opportunities for input, including a virtual community meeting April 5, where feedback will be welcome on "the proposed height limit exception." Following those meetings, "staff is slated to present the project to the Planning Commission with an opportunity for public comment April 27." The last step will be final approval by the Board of Supervisors. (placer.ca.us)
  4. Gold Country Media's athlete of the week this week is a true fighter. Luke Allen is a senior varsity baseball player for the Fighting Zebras. But last year, Luke was doing most of his fighting off the field. Allen was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma on February 2, 2022. He and his father, the Fighting Zebras' coach, Mike Allen, had a long road, but in June, Luke's scan came back cancer-free. He took the field with the Zebras shortly thereafter, to a standing ovation from fans. Great pick for athlete of the week! (Gold Country Media)
