Roseville Branches of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh celebrated Black History
HSS Roseville marks Black History Month with Fire Chief Williams, highlighting unity and service to the community.
On Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) Sacramento, through its Roseville teen and family branches, held a Black History Month celebration, drawing an attendance of approximately 30 individuals.
The guest speaker at the celebration was Rocklin Fire Chief, Reginald Williams. Chief Williams presented a motivational speech, emphasizing the values of diversity and sharing the story of his journey as a firefighter and community leader.
Chief Williams highlighted the valuable role that diversity plays in the fire department’s strength and its ability to better serve the city. He spoke about the department’s initiative in trying to recruit individuals from different backgrounds and cultures so that the department would reflect the community that it serves.

Chief Williams also addressed the important work firefighters do every day to assist residents in remaining safe, from emergency responses to public education on fire prevention. He provided useful safety tips and discussed how being prepared was instrumental in reducing fire-related risks.
His words of inspiration resonated with the youth in attendance, poignantly reminding them of the ongoing fight for equality, unity, and the valuable service of first responders in keeping the community safe.
