Roseville's Fire Station No. 9 Could be Named After...

Roseville's newest fire station could get a formal name Wednesday night.

Fire Station No. 9, which opened last month to serve west and northwest Roseville, could be named after the late Captain Gerald "Jerry" Roskelley.

The Roseville City Council will vote on the name Wednesday night, and the Fire Facilities Naming Committee is recommending the station be named in honor of Roskelley.

The city sought nominations in March, and the only other front-runner for a moniker for the station was retired Fire Chief Fred Gatbolino, according to a staff report. In the end, the naming committee chose Roskelley.

Fire Station No. 9 is located at 2451 Hayden Parkway.
