Roseville Man Arrested for Suspected Gas Siphoning in Davis
The suspect stole thousands of dollars in gas from a Davis Valero station using a rigged bread truck.

Two men pulled up to the on Chiles Road in Davis in a bread truck that was rigged with a large gasoline tank and a hole in the floorboard.
Surveillance video shows one of the men removing the fuel cap from the ground while the driver pulls the truck forward. After that, the men attached a hose and began sucking thousands of dollars worth of fuel through a hole in the bottom of the bread truck.

Police arrested Tyler Bird, 27, of Roseville. Heβs facing conspiracy and grand theft charges. Another suspect fled the scene on foot.
βThey really just pulled up to the gas station and started pumping,β said Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov. "But then they got caught.β Β He said heβd never seen anything like it in his entire career.

The Valero stationβs owner, Darshan Mundy, told CBS News that he had been hit six times by the same suspects in recent weeks, to the tune of $8,000. He called it a huge loss, and said he wonβt report it to insurance because his rates will go up.
