Here are some highlights of what's going on this weekend in Roseville:

Friday, Sept. 21

Sauce Off: The City of Roseville Parks & Recreation and Roseville Crime Stoppers is hosting the 2nd annual Sauce Off, a pasta sauce competition. "Dean-O-Holics" will perform during the event while local chefs show off their best pasta sauce in hopes of nabbing the title of Roseville's best pasta sauce.
When: 6-8:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Roseville Sports Complex, 1545 Peasant Grove Blvd., Roseville
Cost: Tickets are $12 per person; $20 at the door

Sammy's Rockin' Island Bar & Grill Grand Opening: Sammy Hagar's restaurant and entertainment is now open and celebrating its grand opening this weekend. Two shows are planned — "Apple Z" will perform Friday night and "The Waboritas" will perform Saturday.

Saturday, Sept. 22

Veterans Pancake Breakfast: A Veterans Pancake Breakfast set for Saturday will benefit The Soldiers Project/Sacramento-Placer, a nonprofit organization that provides free therapy to active and veterans. This is the second annual breakfast.
When: 8-11 a.m. Saturday
Where: St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 Stone Canyon Drive in Roseville
Cost: $5 for adults, $3 for children under age 10; discount available for veterans who show identification

Concert at the Fountains: "Remnanz" will perform at the Fountains at Roseville during their free summer concert series. The band is a classic rock band playing music from the 60s to 80s.
When: 8-10 p.m. Saturday
