Sacramento Police Officer Placed On Administrative Leave During Criminal Investigation

He remains on administrative leave as the criminal investigation is being conducted by the Folsom Police Department.

On January 16, 2022, the Folsom Police Department advised the Sacramento Police Department that they were pursuing a criminal complaint related to the conduct of Sacramento Police Department Officer Benjamin Gray. He was not on duty at the time the notification was received. On January 17, 2022, prior to his next scheduled workday, Gray was placed on administrative leave and his peace officer powers were removed. He remains on administrative leave as the criminal investigation is being conducted by the Folsom Police Department. In addition to the criminal investigation by the Folsom Police Department, the Sacramento Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is conducting an administrative investigation which will be subject to an independent review by the City of Sacramento’s Office of Public Safety Accountability.
