SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should know an atmospheric river is making its way to the Bay Area, leading to gusty wind, rain, chances of thunderstorms and possible flooding across the region.
"Warm and dry conditions through Tuesday. Unsettled weather pattern returns middle of next week through the weekend," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote early Monday. "Moderate rain, strong southerly winds, and a slight chance for thunderstorms late Wednesday through Thursday."

In other news, a man was found dead inside his home after hours of crisis negotiation; five people, including four minors, were injured in a mass shooting; five teens were arrested for vandalizing a school; a swarm of earthquakes rattled parts of the Bay Area; and police offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who fatally shot another man in a dispute over a parking space.
The University of California reached a tentative contract agreement with the union representing thousands of research associates, lab assistants and health care professionals, leading union officials to cancel their strike notice.
