Apartment Fire Blamed On Overloaded Outlet

SAN FRANCISCO — An overloaded electrical outlet is to blame for a fire at a residence in San Francisco on Monday afternoon, according to the fire department.

Crews arrived at the one-alarm fire in an apartment at 501 Delancy Street, the San Francisco Fire Department said around 2:30 p.m.

The fire was contained and no one was injured or displaced, the fire department said.

The blaze was caused by an accidental fire related to an overused outlet with too many appliances plugged into it, causing it to overheat, according to SF Fire.
