SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect cooler weather to continue this week, according to the National Weather Service. Also, a coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Monday through midnight for San Francisco, the North Bay interior valleys and San Francisco Bay shoreline counties.

"Below normal temperatures continue through the week," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. "Gusty winds return late tonight and continue through Monday night along the coast, ridgetops, and mountain gaps/passes."

In other news, two men were arrested after a bloody break-in at a middle school, a martial arts instructor was arrested on child porn charges; a teen was arrested after a deadly rollover crash during a police pursuit; and the brother of a former NFL player was arrested after crashing into a post office.

Plus, scientists have responded to 21 gray whale deaths in the San Francisco Bay Area this year, the most in 25 years, according to the Marine Mammal Center. The latest washed up earlier this month in Richmond and marked the highest number of gray whale fatalities since 2000.
