
SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco police will be holding a DUI checkpoint Saturday to look for anyone driving under the influence.
The sobriety checkpoint will be set up from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday at an undisclosed location in the city. Police said the checkpoint's location was chosen based on history of DUI crashes and arrests in the area.
Drivers were warned that those charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
