Fatal BART Accident: Woman Dragged Onto Tracks In San Francisco
A woman stepped off the train as the doors closed and was dragged by her dog leash, according to BART.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman who died Monday attempting to board a Bay Area Rapid Transit train at the city's Powell Street station.
Amy Adams, 41, of San Francisco was dragged onto the tracks while attempting to board a train headed for the Dublin/Pleasanton station.
Surveillance footage and witness interviews indicate Adams was standing on the platform with a dog leash secured to her waist, BART said in a statement released Tuesday. She boarded the train and "at the very last second, right as the doors were closing" stepped back onto the platform, apparently waving to someone. The dog remained inside the train.
