SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect widespread rainfall and isolated thunderstorms to start off the week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Widespread rainfall and thunderstorm chances today," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. "Post-frontal rain showers and thunderstorms tomorrow. Warming and drying trend Wednesday through Saturday."

In other news, two people were killed and three were seriously injured, including two officers, after a pursuit ended with two crashes; four people found dead inside a home were identified as a couple and their two daughters; a man was arrested after shooting himself and a friend while showing off a gun; a woman was hospitalized and a resident was displaced by a house fire; and two suspects were arrested in connection with a string of violent home invasion robberies and residential burglaries.

Also, one California Lottery player got very lucky this weekend with a $50 million winning ticket.
