Fire Prompts Evacuation Of High-Rise Building In San Francisco
Residents of a high-rise apartment building were evacuated due to a fire in the underground parking garage.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Residents of a high-rise apartment building in San Francisco's Northern Waterfront neighborhood were allowed to return to their building after being evacuated due to a fire in the underground parking garage.
The Gateway building at 440 Davis Court was evacuated at about 1 p.m.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area of Davis and Jackson Streets as crews from the San Francisco Fire Department fought the underground blaze.

Residents were allowed back into the building by 1:45 p.m. after the incident commander on scene determined the fire was extinguished and there was no remaining smoke.
No injuries were reported.
