Flooding Expected This Week Along The Merced River In Yosemite Valley
A flood warning was issued in anticipation of considerable snowmelt during the extended run of warm weather.

YOSEMITE VALLEY, CA — The National Weather Service (NWS) said just before 5 p.m. Sunday the flood watch for the Merced River at Pohono Bridge in Yosemite Valley has been upgraded to a flood warning, thanks to the effect of the warm weather on this season's massive snowpack.
The NWS said on Twitter the Merced River through Yosemite "will stair-step upward through the week as snow melts during this week's heat wave."
Much of the valley from Highway 120 is closed, due to the likely flooding. Park officials say some areas may not reopen until June.
