Free Movie Screenings Saturday At Legion of Honor
The beloved films "Vertigo" by Alfred Hitchcock, and Adam Shankman's "The Wedding Planner" will be shown.
SAN FRANCISCO — The Legion of Honor will celebrate its centennial year with a special film screening featuring two iconic movies filmed at the museum. The free event, part of the museum’s Free Saturdays program, will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, and showcase Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo at 11 a.m. and Adam Shankman’s The Wedding Planner at 2 p.m.
The Legion of Honor plays a key role in both films. In Vertigo (1958), starring James Stewart and Kim Novak, the museum’s Gallery 6 was used as the setting for the fictional “Portrait of Carlotta Valdes.” In The Wedding Planner (2001), starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, the museum’s courtyard provides a picturesque backdrop for a romantic scene.
Guests attending the screenings are also invited to explore the museum’s galleries for free, as part of Free Saturdays, which offers complimentary general admission to all residents of the nine Bay Area counties. Seating for the screenings is limited, unassigned, and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
