LGBT Community Rallies Around San Francisco Student Who Died
Daine Grey, a transgender student at City College of San Francisco, died July 2.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- City College of San Francisco student Daine Grey may have died earlier this month, but the LGBT community has rallied to give him the proper service he deserves. In a GoFundMe fundraiser, friend Lady Katerina wrote that Grey's parents refused to claim his body because they disowned him.
Therefore, loved ones hoped to raise enough money to give Grey a memorial service to honor the 22-year-old's life.
"As a community we can claim the body," the GoFundMe said. "Lady Katerina is taking point and will claim the body on behalf of Daine's community and friends."
