Pier Fire Extinguished In San Francisco

All lanes of the Embarcadero were closed in both directions as crews battled the fire.

SAN FRANCISCO — Crews contained a one-alarm blaze early Tuesday morning at San Francisco's Embarcadero area, according to fire officials.

Shortly after 4 a.m., the San Francisco Fire Department said a fire was being extinguished on the edge of a pier at 525 The Embarcadero, South Pier 30. Both lanes of the Embarcadero were closed in both directions as crews battled the fire.

Crews were able to contain the blaze and around 4:50 a.m., the fire department said lanes of the affected roadway were accessible again.

Nobody was reported injured.

The fire department said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
