SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Looping, rolling and gliding between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, the Blue Angels are coming to amaze and delight the Bay Area again, along with a host of other offerings during Fleet Week, which begins Monday and ends Sunday.
The Blue Angels will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Other events include interoperable firefighting training with the San Francisco Fire Department aboard a ship at Piers 27 and 30/32 at 10 a.m. Monday, and a 4:30 p.m. performance that same day from the Navy Band Southwest woodwind quintet at the Sunset Branch Library.
San Francisco Fleet Week began in 1981. Its parade of ships and community events have become an integral part of the city's local culture and economy. It also features a training and education program that brings together civilian and military forces to develop and share best practices in humanitarian assistance.
