San Francisco School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in San Francisco is August 21. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The San Francisco Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 10/9: No School (Indigenous People’s Day)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/21: End of Fall Semester
• 12/22 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/16: No School (Lunar New Year Observance)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/6: Last Day of School
