Southbound Great Highway Lanes Closed To Traffic Monday Morning

SAN FRANCISCO — The southbound lanes on San Francisco's Great Highway were closed to vehicle traffic Monday morning.

The closure is due to a build up of sand in the roadway that occurred over the weekend, San Francisco Public Works officials announced on Twitter this morning.

Northbound lanes were opened as usual following the regular weekend closure for the city's Safe Streets SF program, which closes certain streets, including Great Highway, for pedestrian use only.
